Studio Audience Tickets - Backstage Pass

Most episodes of BackStage Pass seat a live studio audience in an intimate, small concert setting, recreated in WKAR Studio A. Typically, two performances are recorded with each artist to create a single episode.

Studio Audience Tickets are free, but must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. Seating is limited and not all attendance requests can be honored.

Contact Becky Scheel at 517-432-3120 x-354 or via email at Reservations1@wkar.org. Specify the performing act and the taping day requested. Reservations are subject to change to accommodate changes in production schedules.

Where We Are

The WKAR television studios are located in the Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS) building on the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing. Free (non-metered) public parking is available after 6pm in the Trowbridge Ramp adjacent to the south entrance to the building. A map is available online at wkar.org/inside/map/

Evening Schedule

Audience members are asked to arrive in the south lobby of the CAS building no later than 6:30pm (unless otherwise noted). A typical schedule for the evening is:

6:00pm Audience Check-In begins
6:30pm Audience Check-In ends. Unclaimed reservations go to standby.
9:00pm Approximate performance end

Audience Information and Guidelines

The studio audience may be seen on camera. Appropriate evening casual concert dress is requested. Audience members wearing inappropriate clothing or attire containing slogans or images may be reseated elsewhere in the studio at the discretion of WKAR-TV. The audience will be apprised of proper studio audience behavior prior to the performance.

Smoking is not allowed in the building. Food and beverages will not be provided and are not allowed in the television studios.

A request to attend a Backstage Pass performance and appearance by a member of the public in the television studio during a performance taping implies agreement of that individual to appear on camera and potentially in the completed program. No financial compensation will be conferred.

Additional questions may be directed to WKAR-TV Executive Producer Tim Zeko at 517-432-3120 x-417 or at timz@wkar.org.
