Old Town Jazz Festival Features Cool Jazz for Hot Nights
WKAR is pleased to be a partner with the 15th annual Lansing JazzFest, a two-day free music festival that brings national, regional, and local acts to Lansing's Old Town. Taking place on August 7 (4 p.m.-12:30 a.m.) and Saturday, August 8 (2 p.m.-12:30 a.m.), the event will feature a variety of bands, each of which has been asked to perform an original composition not previously performed at other festivals.
Also on hand will be vendors offering ethnic food, beverages, art, clothing, and crafts, while nearby galleries and boutiques will open their doors during festival hours.
Featured performers will include organissimo (whose BackStage Pass program will premiere next season on WKAR-TV), Tim Cunningham, Hot Club of Detroit, Lansing All Star Jazz Band, Ginny Dusseau with The Truth In Jazz Orchestra, Larry Gabriel and many others.
