Re-Scan for TV Channels
Friday, June 12 after 10am ET
to continue receiving over-the-air broadcasts of
WKAR-HD, WKAR-23, WKAR Create and WKAR World

ATTENTION WKAR-TV over-the-air viewers

Don't Lose WKAR-TV!

To continue to receive WKAR-TV over the air, you will need to re-scan your television or converter box after approximately 10:00am on Friday, June 12.

At 9:00 am on Friday, WKAR-TV will go off the air briefly to allow our engineers to prepare the transmitter to broadcast on our permanent digital frequency.

At 10:00am WKAR-TV will return to the air at the new frequency.

If you receive WKAR-TV using an antenna, you will need to re-scan for channels after this time on Friday.

With this change, we’ll also welcome back some viewers whose WKAR signal was temporarily blocked. They may not know we’re back, so if you have friends in the Jackson, Brighton, Ionia, Battle Creek, Marshall, or Howell areas – or near there – let them know to look for WKAR!

The best place to start scanning is with your converter or TV set manual. And make sure your antenna is pointed toward WKAR’s Okemos transmitter, so you can pick up our four digital stations!

Learn about scanning and other digital television topics, visit our Digital TV help page, or call us at 517.432.9527.
