Join WKAR Radio personalities Dan Bayer, Melissa Ingells, and Scott Pohl, during the Old Town BluesFest, Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22, when they host performances by stellar blues artists from Lansing, around the state, and all the way from Australia!

This year’s festival kicks off with a “Happy Hour” featuring Frog & the Beeftones on September 21 from 5-5:35 p.m. on the North Stage. Also on tap during the two-day events will be: Those Delta Rhythm Kings, the Old Town Blues Band, Reverend Raven, Harper (who traveled from down under and is touring with his American band), 6 Hands Down, Kathleen & the Blues Junkies, Mike Espy with Yakity Yak, the Josh Boyd Band, the Stan Budzynski Band, Jan James, Midnight Rain with Jerry Lee Patterson, Root Doctor, Smokin’ Joe Kubek (featuring Bnois King), and the Lansing Showcase Revue.

There will also be several informal workshops throughout the three-stage area on September 22 such as “Messing with Kidz,” “Harmonica for Kids,” “Mike Daniels Blues Drumming Workshop,” and “Delta Blues/Slide Guitar with Stan Budzynski.”

A full schedule of performances and activities is available at the Old Town BluesFest website at: www.oldtownbluesfest.com.

The fall festival began in 1994 as an OctoberFest with music, a little food, and of course, a variety of libations, with 2,000 to 3,000 attending in the early years. The festival’s name was changed to the Old Town BluesFest in 2002, and has grown considerably to welcome nearly 15,000 attendees each year.

The Old Town Business & Arts Development Association (OTBADA), which sponsors the annual event, is a nonprofit organization that works towards the revitalization of Lansing’s Old Town historic and commercial district.

Visit OTBADA’s website at:
