Reginald Hardwick is digital news director for WKAR Public Media, leading the creation of news reporting and commentary across all station platforms, including online, radio and television.

Hardwick joined WKAR in March 2017.

Before joining WKAR, Hardwick spent nearly 18 years at KXAS-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. His most recent role was as multi-platform producer of a weekly Texas politics show and news specials.  He is a seven-time regional Emmy® winner. Prior to Texas, Hardwick worked in Denver, Colorado. He spent his childhood summers visiting family in Michigan.


At least three members of the Michigan congressional delegation were present and uninjured when a rifle-wielding gunman opened fire at a baseball practice just outside of Washington, D.C.  A top House Republican, Steve Scalise of Louisiana, was shot and several other people were also wounded.

On Tuesday morning, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero talked at length about his stance on Medical Marijuana facilities in Lansing and possible legalization in Michigan. He was featured guest of Morning Edition host Brooke Allen.

Host Brooke Allen will ask the mayor about his views on Medical Marijuana as part of WKAR's special reports on Marijuana in Michigan.

She will also ask questions about the LEPFA taking over of management of Groesbeck golf course.

Former Michigan State University football player Joshua King taken into custody after arraignment. He is one of three players accused of sexual assault.

Minutes after criminal sexual conduct charges were announced against football players Demetric Vance, Donnie Corley and Josh King, Michigan State University Head Coach Mark Dantonio released a statement dismissing the three players from the program.

Former MSU football players Josh King, Demetric Vance and Donnie Corley were officially charged with sexual assault on Tuesday morning.

The Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office said it will file sexual assault charges again three Michigan State University football players soon.
