BUDGET UPDATE: Lawmakers hold closed door session on state budget; deadline looming

Lansing, MI – House Democrats are meeting in a closed-door caucus on the budget. House leaders have been unable to round up the votes for big spending cuts. Senate Republicans say they won't agree to new taxes to balance the budget. The deadline for finishing the budget is midnight.
