High School Football; Detroit Lions' Preseason; Detroit Tigers; Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather; Ali Easley; Michael From Saginaw.

Bouncing back from a busy weekend, "Current Sports with Al Martin" brings all the big sports news both locally and nationally. Starting it off, Al reels off the high school football scores from around the area and recaps the Lansing Catholic-Waverly game. Stepping over to the east side of the state, the Detroit Lions played the New England Patriots tight but fell in the team's third preseason game. Once again, Al highlights how the final score was sadly not the main takeaway. Onto the fight that has the whole nation still yawning, Floyd Mayweather took down Conor McGregor by way of TKO. Al and engineer Isaac Constans have some fun with it, and bring context to boxing's biggest bout in years. Ali Easley, head trainer at Crown Boxing Club, visits the show to bring some in-the-ring evaluation of the fight, and adds to the dialog of boxing's experiment in welcoming McGregor. A long-time listener, Michael from Saginaw signs the show off until tomorrow, as he stopped by to see just what was going on.
