The King has made his decision. On this episode of "Current Sports with Al Martin," engineer Ian Hawley takes over the mic in place of a vacationing Al. Ian gives his thoughts on the blockbuster deal made by the Los Angeles Lakers to secure LeBron James. James signed a four year, $153.3 million deal with a player option after year three. Now the focus is on Kawhi Leonard and where the San Antonio Spurs will trade him. In segment two, production assistants Alec Reo and Jack Kerwin update listeners on the biggest deals coming out of the first weekend of NHL free agency, including the New York Islanders' John Tavares signing a deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The dynamic duo also give their thoughts on the status of the Detroit Red Wings, and what kind of moves are necessary for the Winged Wheel to make progress next season. To close the show, production assistant Tamar Davis chats with Ian about James' deal and about some influential hip hop released this weekend.
