Downton Abbey, Season 4 on MASTERPIECE premieres on January 5, 2014 — but as a valued audience member of WKAR, you can enjoy a special preview of the new season before anyone else!
We're hosting special preview screenings of the MASTERPIECE hit at the Michigan Theatre in Jackson and the Sun Theatre in Williamston.
The preview screening at Michigan Theatre in Jackson is Thursday, December 12, at 6:30 p.m. Two screenings will be offered at Sun Theatre in Williamston on Saturday, December 14, at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
"This has become an annual event for WKAR and our fans. Our first preview screening, ahead of season two, filled our home auditorium in the Communication Arts and Sciences building to capacity," says WKAR station manager Susi Elkins. "For season three last year, we moved off campus to a local theatre venue where we filled the house for two showings and had to add a third to meet demand."
"This year, we're pleased to have the Michigan Theatre in Jackson and the Sun Theatre in Williamston as community partners presenting the Downton Abbey preview screenings with us," says Elkins. "This will give us up to 2000 seats, and we're so excited to be able to go to Jackson and Williamston. We're hoping to meet many fans for the first time."
The Downton Abbey screenings feature a one-hour preview of the first episode of season 4. Guests are encouraged to attend in Downton Abbey period wear.
