The Genesis G70 was named Car of the Year by a panel of 54 jurors.

The North American International Auto Show in Detroit kicked off today with the announcement of Car, Truck and Utility Vehicles of the Year.

The opening event of the car show in Detroit was the unveiling of the winner of the 2019 Car of the Year.

The G70 beat the Honda Insight and the Volvo S60 and V60 for Car of the Year honors.

The Hyundai Kona and Kona EV was named Utility Vehicle of the Year, over the Acura RDX and the Jaguar I-Pace.

Truck of the Year honors went to the Ram 1500 over the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra.

The Detroit Auto Show opens to the public on Saturday, the last time the show will be held in the winter. It moves to summer in 2020.
