A review team has selected a development plan for Lansing's so-called Red Cedar Renaissance project. The group recommends a proposal from the Jerome-Ferguson development group. The team describes it as the "most desirable and viable" from among five plans.
In a written statement, Mayor Virg Bernero calls the blueprint "compelling and comprehensive."
The plan calls for developing more than the 12 acres that Lansing voters had previously okayed for the work at the old Red Cedar Golf Course. Bernero says he will ask the city council tonight to move on a ballot proposal asking voters to expand the project.
