Linda Lee Tarver (second from right) talks with attendees at Friday's Republican Women's Federation of Michigan inaugural watch party at the Sun Theatre in Williamston.

On Friday, Donald Trump took the oath of office as our 45th president. We sent Scott Pohl and Kevin Lavery out to hear what local people thought of the ceremony.

The Republican Women's Federation of Michigan hosted a gathering to watch the events from Washington D.C. at the Sun Theatre in Williamston.

Meanwhile, we approached Trump foes on the Michigan State University campus to ask their thoughts on the inauguration of President Trump.

Kevin Lavery served as a general assignment reporter and occasional local host for Morning Edition and All Things Considered before retiring in 2023.
Scott Pohl is a general assignment news reporter and produces news features and interviews. He is also an alternate local host on NPR's "Morning Edition."
