MSU addresses sustainability efforts, shift toward renewable energy

Currently under 2 percent of the MSU's energy portfolio is renewable.

 In a plan adopted last year by its Board of Trustees, Michigan State University committed to an “energy future” comprised 100% of renewable energy sources.  This week, University President Lou Anna K. Simon updates the effort in her second annual energy roundtable, which will be a live webcast.  

Jennifer Battle is assistant director for the Office of Campus Sustainability at MSU. She gives us an inside look at President Simon’s gathering and larger issues involving campus energy.
