MSU club lacrosse looks to move back to varsity level

EAST LANSING, Mich. - At one point, Michigan State varsity lacrosse was a reality.

The program played with distinction throughout the 1970s and ‘80s. In 1995,lacrosse was cut as a varsity sports, a casualty of Title IX. Since then, Spartanlacrosse has survived as a club sport, but is still committed to competing at thehighest level.

With the coming of the Big Ten lacrosse conference in 2013 and the growinginterest in the sport, many wonder when MSU will elevate its lacrosse team back to the varsity level.
