Snowy day in south Lansing.

National Weather Service meteorologist Jared Maples said there will be light snow in the late morning and again in the evening. Temperatures will also drop Monday night and on Tuesday.

Look for multiple rounds of snow today according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologist Jared Maples expects a quick light snow shower right after this morning’s rush hour. And another one that may make the drive home a little tough.

"Generally about 1-3 inches that one is going to be more concerning for the evening commutes," said Maples. "We’re looking at highs probably topping out right around freezing."

After that, Maples forecasted much colder air will be settling into the Capitol region.

"We see much colder air that’s sinking into the area," said Maples. "We’ll be dropping down to the low to mid 20’s. probably bottoming out right around 22-23 degrees for Lansing and surrounding areas. We stay there for quite some time and go thru Tuesday with temperatures staying rather steady with highs relatively cold for this time of year with highs in the lower 20s."
