A former deputy chief of staff for Rep. John Conyers says the veteran lawmaker made unwanted sexual advances toward her, including inappropriate touching.
Deanna Maher, who ran a Michigan office for him from 1997 to 2005, told The Detroit News that there were three instances of inappropriate conduct.
Conyer's attorney says the lawmaker denies the allegations.
Maher is the second woman to accused Conyers of sexual harassment.
Conyers announced Sunday he was stepping down as ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee. Two weeks ago allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced publicly against Conyers. The allegations were made by a former female employee, who had made a wrongful dismissal complaint against the longest-serving member of the House that was settled two years ago.
