UPDATE: Wed. 6/6/18, 7am - As we posted on Friday, 6/1/18, WKAR-TV is now on the air at full power on the new FCC-assigned frequency. Some antenna TV viewers who have rescanned and are receiving WKAR TV again are reporting that program information is not showing up in the on-screen tuning/program guide on their TV or DVR.
Antenna Connected to TIVO or Other DVR
If your antenna is connected to a TIVO or other digital video recorder (DVR), the issue for you is the listing information coming from your DVR service. TIVO and other DVR systems get their program guide and tuning information from service providers such as Tribune Media Services, Gracenote (Rovi/TV Guide), and others. WKAR has provided updated channel listing information to those services. Contact your DVR service provider if the lack of programming information persists.
Antenna Connected to TV with no TIVO or Other DVR
If your antenna is correct direct to your TV, with no TIVO or other digital video recorder (DVR) attached, and this is a problem you are having, it should be correctable with what is called a "double rescan." It's a five-step process that removes old channel information that could remain in your system after a simple scan. Please try these steps:
- Disconnect the antenna from the box or digital TV.
- Re-scan the box or digital TV without the antenna connected. As with any scan follow the on-screen instructions or owner's manual for your device.
- Unplug the box or digital TV from the electrical outlet for at least one minute.
- Reconnect the antenna to the box or digital TV and plug the unit into the electrical outlet.
- Rescan the box or digital TV one more time.
After completing these steps, you should see 23-1 WKARHD, 23-2 WKARWLD, 23-3 WKARCRT, 23-4 WKARKID listed as available channels (names may vary), with current and upcoming programming listed for each.
If you continue to have trouble, please send a note by email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your street/city address and a brief description of the problem you are having, and we'll get back with you as soon as possible during weekday business hours.
