Trevor Darnell Talks Legalized Sports Betting

MSU graduate Trevor Darnell joined WKAR's Current Sports with Al Martin to discuss legalized sports gambling in America.

Trevor Darnell is a recent graduate of Michigan State University and, as a student, had a vision of getting into the sports gambling world in Las Vegas. Darnell, a ticket writer at South Point Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, apparently had some foresight seeing as though in May the Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law that effectively banned commercial sports betting in most states. This has now opened the opportunity for states to legalize sports gambling. Right now there are eight states that have full-scale legalized sports-betting (Nevada, New Mexico, Mississippi, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Rhode Island).

Darnell joined WKAR's Current Sports with Al Martin to discuss the impact of the Supreme Court's decision and the impact it will have on sporting culture.

Al Martin is the host of Current Sports, the daily radio call-in program from WKAR NewsTalk. Al is also on the WKAR News team as a regular sports contributor and plays a key sports reporting and content role on all other WKAR media platforms.
