Michigan's attorney general alleged Monday that his opponent in the governor's race didn't tell the truth about her handling of the prosecution of serial sexual abuser Larry Nassar, accusing her of an "integrity gap" that disqualifies her for the state's top job.

Former top-level state officials with the Snyder, Engler, and Milliken administrations are among a group of Republicans and independents publicly endorsing Democrat Gretchen Whitmer for governor.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gretchen Whitmer has announced that her running mate is Garlin Gilchrist II, who runs the University of Michigan's Center for Social Media Responsibility.
