Snyder to Propose Consent Deal to Detroit Council

Governor Rick Snyder’s administration will reveal details Tuesday of a proposal to help the city of Detroit fix its finances and avert a state takeover. The plan will be presented to members of an emergency financial review team and to the Detroit city council.

Michigan in line for $100 million foreclosure settlement

A federal judge is expected to approve a settlement between states and some of the nation’s biggest mortgage lenders. The deal is expected to net Michigan about $100 million. State Attorney General Bill Schuette  has a plan for how to use the money.
