Former Michigan State gymnastics coach Kathie Klages turned herself into Lansing police on Thursday. It came weeks after she was charged with lying to police amid an investigation into the school’s handling of sexual abuse complaints against former sports doctor Larry Nassar.

A second person has now been charged in connection to the Michigan Attorney General's Office investigation into Michigan State University’s handling of the Larry Nassar case. Former MSU gymnastics coach Kathie Klages was charged today with lying to police during the investigation into Nassar.

The gymnasts danced like no one was watching , a joyous circle of pink-clad young women celebrating a meet with their teammates. In truth, all eyes seem to be on Michigan State in these troubled days.

WKAR news reporter Scott Pohl has been following the Larry Nassar sentencing in federal court this morning in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The former MSU and USA gymnastics team doctor was sentenced to 60 years in prison on child pornography charges by Judge Janet T. Neff. Nassar will be sentenced in state court in January for molesting gymnasts.
