Notable local architecture subject of ‘East Lansing Modern’

The MSU Museum hosts a new exhibit that features local architecture.

Michigan State University Art and Art History professor Susan Bandes has run a student project this year examining notable architecture in East Lansing. The focus has been on homes and businesses built between 1940 and 1970.

A look at the history of Motown

'Motown: The Musical' made over $1 million in its first week of previews on Broadway.

Soon a little piece of Detroit’s history will join the marquees on Broadway. "Motown the Musical" will debut in New York in April. If you can’t make it to Broadway, you can find the story of Motown on display at the Motown Museum. WKAR’s Scott Pohl toured the museum with president and CEO of the Motown Museum, Allen Rawls.

Broad Art Museum Exhibit To Include Portraits Of Locals

Artist Jochen Gerz examines a German newspaper story on a recent installation similar to his project at the Broad Art Museum. The museum opens this weekend.

German artist Jochen Gerz is producing a photographic exhibit for MSU’s new Broad Art Museum, and you can be part of it. It’s called “The Gift: Lansing, Michigan 2012.”

Museum Curator's Private Collection on Display in "The Art of Christmas"

MSU Museum curator Val Berryman at "The Art of Christmas" exhibit at the Williamston Depot Museum.

An exhibit by Val Berryman, called “The Art of Christmas," is on display at the Williamston Depot Museum.  Berryman is curator of history at the Michigan State University Museum.  He’s been collecting vintage Christmas decorations, figurines and illustrations since 1984.  Berryman tells WKAR’s Gretchen Millich that for this exhibit, he chose some favorites from his personal collection.
