WASHINGTON – WASHINGTON (AP) - Congress is taking a look today at how much taxpayers now have invested in GM and Chrysler.
With carloads of government money tied up in the automakers, members of the White House auto task force face some tough questioning before the Senate Banking Committee.
Chairman Christopher Dodd wants to know how taxpayer money is being used, how much is being used and when taxpayers will start seeing a return on the investment.
Another committee member, Sen. Bob Corker, wants to require Chrysler and GM to use their taxpayer money "to reimburse" dealerships that are being closed for the vehicles and the parts they still have.
