About 27K remain without power in Mich.

By AP

DETROIT – About 27,000 Michigan utility customers remain without power after thunderstorms battered the region and left about 249,000 homes and businesses in the dark.

DTE Energy Co. spokeswoman Lorie Kessler says about 7,000 customers were without power Tuesday morning. That's down from about 130,000 that were out earlier.

CMS Energy Corp. says about 20,000 customers were without power Tuesday morning, out of about 119,000 affected since Saturday. CMS says most customers should have service restored by late Tuesday night. The company said customers in the hardest-hit areas such as Ottawa, Muskegon and northern Kent counties may not be restored
until late Wednesday night.

DTE says most of its customers should have service restored by late Tuesday.
