Red Wings win third straight vs. Sharks, 4-2

By AP

SAN JOSE, CA – Derek Meech scored a tie-breaking power-play goal early in the third period and the Detroit Red Wings rallied from an early two-goal deficit to beat the San Jose Sharks
4-2 Tuesday night.

Dan Cleary, Henrik Zetterberg and Patrick Eaves also scored for the Red Wings, who are 3-0 against the Western Conference-leading Sharks but have struggled against almost everyone else this season.

The Red Wings, who have won the Western Conference the past two seasons, are fighting just to make the playoffs this year in a season hampered by injuries. Detroit is tied for seventh in the conference.

Joe Thornton scored a pair of goals for the Sharks, who have only two regulation losses in their past 12 games - both at home against Detroit.
