Snyder ad says he can turn Mich. economy around

By AP

LANSING, MI – Rick Snyder is heading into the homestretch of his bid to win the Republican nomination for Michigan governor with a new ad promoting his ability to create
jobs.

Snyder's sixth ad will begin airing Tuesday in the Detroit area and air statewide later in the week.

The ad stresses the former Gateway CEO's business background and says Michigan needs to throw out "high taxes, silly regulations" and bring in "tough, smart management."

Voters this week also will see campaign ads for GOP Attorney General Mike Cox and Democratic House Speaker Andy Dillon.

Other candidates in the governor's race are Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, a Democrat, and three more Republicans: Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, state Sen. Tom George and U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra.
