EAST LANSING, MI – Kalisha Keane scored 18 points and Taylor Alton had 16 to help No. 11 Michigan State beat Michigan 69-56 on Sunday before the first sellout crowd at the Breslin Center for a women's game.
Lykendra Johnson added 13 points and 11 rebounds, her eighth double-double this season, as the first-place Spartans (22-3, 10-2 Big Ten) continued to match the best start in school history before a crowd of 14,797.
Michigan State had a 10-point advantage at the break and never led by fewer than eight in the second half of its 17th win in the past 18 games against the Wolverines (14-10, 7-5).
Michigan was led by Courtney Boylan and Jenny Ryan, who each had 11 points. But the team's top 3-point threat, Carmen Reynolds, was held without a basket.
