Mason – More than 7 thousand Consumers electric costumers in Ingham County are still without service after an intense thunderstorm ripped through lower Michigan Sunday afternoon. Ingham was one of the counties hardest hit by the storm.
Consumers Energy Field Leader Alex Curling is worried that summer heat may hinder the repair crew's efforts.
"We want to keep our guys safe and hydrated so we're bringing fluids out to them to keep them hydrated. Also, when you have heat it adds more load onto the system, so we have to be very cautious when were switching over, to make sure we can handle the load,"Curling said.
The utility expects to have power restored to all its customers across lower Michigan by Thursday evening.
