Lansing, MI –
A broken freezer at the Mid-Michigan Food Bank will leave thousands of residents without access to frozen food for at least two weeks. The breakdown is a result of a stretch of hot weather which caused the cooling system to fail. Food bank director Dave Karr says the Mejier grocery company is offering some freezer space for the food bank to store priority items like meat. He says the food bank is looking for community support to help offset the $30,000 it will cost to repair the refrigeration system.
