LIVE MUSIC FRIDAY: Vincent Bowens

Scott Pohl/WKAR

It’s a Live Music Friday again here on Current State, and today, we’ve been enjoying the saxophone of Vincent Bowens. This week, Bowens has been spending time with students in the MSU College of Music Jazz Studies program as part of the MSU Federal Credit Union Jazz Artist in Residence program, along with drummer Tim Froncek.Tonight, they'll perform with the MSU Jazz Octets in the MSU Music Building's Cook Recital Hall, starting at 8 p.m.

Bowens is joined in WKAR's Studio S today by students Pierre Charles on Piano, Adam Olszewski on bass, and drummer Ryan McMahon.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
