Almost 1,400 people gathered on a Ludington's Lake Michigan coastline Saturday, to break the Guinness world record for the most people simultaneously making sand angels on a beach, MLive reports.

The “Be Someone’s Angel” event is organized by the Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital Foundation, in an effort to raise money for the hospital’s cancer service center.

A Guinness judge verified that each of the participants made sand angels for a period of 30 seconds, shattering the previous record of 350 people who made sand angels for 15 seconds on a U.K. beach two years ago.
