PROFILES: Leading supply chain professor recounts life from Turkey to MSU

Dr. Hakan Yildiz is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at MSU’s Eli Broad College of Business. He's the first guest in Current State’s new Profiles series, a monthly extended interview feature with educators, artists, actors and other cultural figures in our community.His education and professional life have taken him from his native Turkey to Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University to East Lansing.

Yildiz’s Carnegie Mellon Ph.D thesis included a study of the logistical challenges of moving major league baseball umpiring crews around the country, a study picked up by media outlets around the country.

Some of his more recent work involves overcoming the complexities of arena-style concerts and other performances traveling from coast to coast.

Hakan Yildiz spoke with Current State's Peter Whorf.
