MI Art Teacher of the Year takes circuitous route to education

As public schools start getting ready to begin a new cycle, meet the new Michigan Art Teacher of the Year, Sharon Stratton. She teaches in Fennville, a west Michigan town with a population of less than 1,400.

While parents are getting ready for the start of the school year, teachers are doing the exact same thing.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley spoke with one teacher in West Michigan who also received a bit of a fantastic surprise a few weeks ago. Sharon Stratton of Fennville has been named Michigan Art Teacher of the Year.
