Greater Lansing voters OK'd a trio of tax proposals in Tuesday's election.
Residents in the Potterville district authorized the school system to issue bonds and borrow up to $28 million for renovations, including construction of an auxiliary gym and early childhood classrooms.
The measure passed handily with 61% of 782 votes cast in favor, according to an unofficial tally Tuesday night. The district's property tax rate will stay the same since Potterville paired the 2.45-mill bond increase with a 2.45-mill drop of its sinking fund millage.
In the city of Lansing, voters approved a proposal to maintain the city's current tax rate and prevent a rollback of a 19.44-mill "essential services" property tax that funds police, fire, roads and sidewalks.
Additionally, Leslie school district voters agreed to maintain an existing 18-mill tax on non-homestead properties like businesses, rentals and second homes.
