WKAR, a national ratings leader within Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences, seeks Morning Edition Producer and Anchor with a real passion for delivering professional on-air presentations to join its team. As Morning Edition Producer and Anchor, you will produce and host local segments between 5:00 – 11:00 am on two NPR member stations that reach nearly a half-million mid-Michigan residents each week. The ideal candidate will work closely with the digital news director, program hosts, reporters and student interns to produce occasional features, interviews, engage with WKAR’s audience via social media, and participate in bi-annual pledge drives.

This position requires knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Telecommunications, Journalism, or Broadcast Production; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in radio production, broadcast operations, rules and regulations and interviewing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position may require a FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit. At least one-year on-air experience in commercial and/or public broadcasting, in producing hard news and features is preferred.

WKAR is a division of the College of Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University.
