WKAR, the NPR affiliate for Michigan State University and the mid-Michigan region, is seeking an experienced, charismatic, and dedicated local anchor and producer for ‘All Things Considered’. Daily responsibilities include writing and anchoring five formal newscasts and four casual updates, and recording evening and overnight weather forecasts. Other tasks include editing news content, cultivating and pitching story ideas during daily news meetings, and social media engagement. This person will report to the managing editor, and will work closely with the radio station manager, program director, other on-air hosts, reporters, and student interns.

Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in broadcasting, communication, journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality content and programming;
- A minimum of one year of on-air experience
- Experience with automation systems and audio editing
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, on deadline, and under pressure
- Self-motivated with experience turning ideas into action
- Prior on-air experience in public and/or commercial broadcasting
- Work experience that demonstrates professionalism, curiosity, and diverse interests
