Marti Heil will replace Bob Groves, who leaves MSU as vice president for University Advancement this fall.

Michigan State University has named Marti Heil as the new vice president for University Advancement. The announcement was made today by MSU executive vice president Kathleen Wilbur.

Heil returns to MSU to replace the outgoing Bob Groves. She worked at MSU in a variety of advancement and development roles for 30 years before taking a position at the Indiana University Foundation. She moved on to a post at Virginia Commonwealth University before retiring in 2017.

Her first official day back at MSU will be October 3, and the Board of Trustees is expected to approved Heil’s appointment at a meeting on October 26.
