Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will visit Michigan Tuesday on the final leg of a tour of battleground states. Some polls show Michigan as a toss-up between Romney and President Obama.
As Republicans prepare for Romney’s three campaign stops in Frankenmuth, DeWitt, and Holland, Democrats sponsored their own bus tour of the state Monday.
Brad Woodhouse is with the Democratic National Committee. He says Democrats need to help set the stage for the Romney visit.
“He should get an opportunity to have his say, but he shouldn’t get a free shot," he says. "We want to make sure that we have an opportunity to talk to the people of Michigan about what his policies would do and remind them that in a state has seen its economy turn around – begin to turn around – that he said, let Detroit go bankrupt.”
The liberal group moveon.org plans to have people at all three Romney events.
