Reginald Hardwick

News Director

Reginald Hardwick is News Director for WKAR Public Media.  He oversees local news coverage on-air and online.

Since joining WKAR in March 2017, the radio news team has won a regional Edward R  Murrow award for education reporting (2018) and a national award for News/Public Affairs from the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (2018). Awards for education reporting, features, news promotion and other categories helped lead WKAR Radio to its first ever Station of the Year honor for 2018.

Before joining WKAR, Hardwick spent nearly 18 years at KXAS-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. His most recent role was as multi-platform producer of a weekly Texas politics show and news specials.  He is a seven-time regional Emmy® winner. Prior to Texas, Hardwick worked in Denver, Colorado. He spent his childhood summers visiting family in Michigan.
