Ionia Public Schools announced that all of its schools will be closed on Tuesday as police investigate a bomb threat.
In a statement issued Sunday evening, the district said Michigan State Police received the threat via a special tip line for pending crimes in schools.
The tipster said a bomb placed inside of a locker at Ionia High school would detonate on Tuesday morning.
As a result, Ionia schools superintendent Ron Wilson called off classes for Tuesday.
State police will have a K-9 unit search the high school on Tuesday, according to the statement.
The district said classes will resume on Wednesday morning.
