Utility crews are making a final push to restore power after high winds swept Michigan, toppling trees and tree branches onto power lines.

Consumers Energy says it had about 3,200 homes and businesses without power Tuesday morning and those customers were expected to have power back by day's end.

DTE Energy says it had about 3,000 customers without power late Monday and restorations were expected for nearly all by the end of Tuesday.

Consumers Energy says in all nearly 130,000 of its customers lost power when high winds swept the region Sunday and early Monday while DTE said more than 160,000 of its customers lost power.

Winds gusted to more than 60 mph (97 kph) and produced blowing snow, creating blizzard conditions in the Upper Peninsula.
