MSU Athletic Communications

MSU Football; MSU Volleyball media day; Ezekiel Elliot suspension; Jason Fuller; Patriot Golf Day.

Happy Friday people! On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin," Al and intern Jacob Herbert discuss the Michigan State volleyball media day that took place Friday morning. Coach Cathy George, along with assistant coaches Kristen Kelsay and Jesse Ortiz held a 'volleyball 101' event to teach local media members the ins and outs of the game. And yes, our heads are still spinning with all this brand new knowledge. Proceeding that, Al, Jacob and close friend of the show Austin from K-Zoo sound off on the recent news involving Dallas Cowboy's running back Ezekiel Elliot and his six-game suspension. What does it say about the NFL and its owners when unfortunate instances like this keep taking place in America's most popular sport? The guys discuss. Yet another friend of the show, Jason Fuller, calls in to discuss the Patriot's Shootout that will be taking place at the Treetops Resort over labor day weekend. All proceeds donated at or towards the event will support scholarships for spouses and children of the fallen or wounded men and women serving our country. Reflection Friday closes out the show as Jacob and Al look back on some of their favorite moments and stories that didn't make it to the show. Join us next week as we celebrate out 1,000th show on Monday!
