WKAR-MSU

Shooting at Congressional Baseball Practice; American Division; MSU Players on Sexual Assault; MSU Coaching Staff; Lions Minicamp.

Today's episode of "Current Sports with Al Martin" goes beyond sports. A shooting in Alexandria, Virginia wounded an active U.S. Congressman preparing for the annual charity House of Representatives baseball game. Al opens the show by describing the incident, and he and engineer Isaac Constans wonder about the division that led to this point. Then, Michigan State football looks to get back on track after a 3-9 season and the cloud of sexual assault charges still looming over the program. Hear from the players on the team, the first time they have spoken in public since the conclusion of the investigation. While the key word for the players might be leadership, Al and Isaac have another word in mind that new recruiting head Mark Staten could help with. And even in the middle of summer, you can't escape all of the football news. Al brings his takeaways from the Detroit Lions' minicamp.
