Holiday Lights Stadium Style Gives Back To Toys For Tots

Lansing Lugnuts

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Cooley Law School Stadium. The Holiday Lights Stadium Style event opened to the public on Saturday. WKAR student reporter Alina Zhuravel explains how participants can get into the holiday spirit while also embracing the season of giving.

Malinda Barr is the organizer of Holiday Lights Stadium Style - an event that celebrates all things christmas, including a 360 degree light show that you literally can’t miss.

She said, “Everything is choreographed to music so it’s loud and obnoxious and super fun."

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for kids ages six and under.

On Fridays and select weekends leading up to Christmas, people can see all of this and more.

“There’s fire pits and Santa and crafts and food trucks and bars and all kinds of fun stuff," said Barr.

Trina Mercer came out with her whole family.

“It’s really beautiful out here," she said. "We came to make smores and the kids went and sat and visited with Santa.”

This event is also aimed at giving back to those in need.

Sparrow Hospital has sponsored a train that will take passengers around the stadium for $1.

All proceeds from the Sparrow Express will go to Toys for Tots.
