We feature a selection of Summertime favorite activities this week: playing baseball in David Newman’s The Sandlot, meeting up at the beach with Max Steiner’s A Summer Place and having a slice of Brooklyn pizza with Bill Lee’s Do the Right Thing.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the toy chest just in case any of them start moving as we play music from Randy Newman’s Toy Story 3, Deborah Lurie’s surprisingly haunting 9 and Henry Jackman’s Winnie the Pooh.

Jun. 17
We play an hour of music by a great master of early cinematic music, Bernard Herrmann, ahead of the 110th anniversary of his birth, June 29th. Hear music from his collaborations with Orson Welles (Citizen Kane), Alfred Hitchcock (Vertigo), Martin Scorsese (Taxi Driver) and more.
