Former President Barack Obama hopes Democrats can take back Michigan in a couple of weeks.
Former President Barack Obama had a message for Michigan.
“What we have not seen before, in our public life, is politicians just blatantly, repeatedly, baldly, shamelessly, lying," said Obama.
“Don’t be Charlie Brown with the football, remember Lucy just lifts it up every time. Don’t be hoodwinked. Don’t be bamboozled. Don’t fall for the okie-doke.”
Multiple Democratic candidates, including the gubernatorial candidate, Gretchen Whitmer joined Obama.
Their goal is to crank up enthusiasm among Democratic and undecided voters ahead of the November midterms.
Michigan voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 but went for Donald Trump in 2016.
Vice President Mike Pence will be in Michigan on Monday to try to energize Republican voters for candidates like Bill Schuette – the Republican running for governor.
