“Off the Record” Continues Discussion on Legislation to Change No-Fault Insurance Law

May 8, 2013

On May 3, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson made headlines on “Off the Record,” taking Michigan’s GOP Speaker of the House, Jase Bolger, to task for his tactics to pass legislation that would change Michigan’s No-Fault Insurance law (House Bill 4612). Patterson opposes the legislation, which would cap the lifetime benefits for catastrophic auto injuries at $1 million.

On Friday, May 10, at 8:30 p.m., Peter Kuhnmuench will appear on “Off the Record” to present another point of view, advocating change in the no-fault insurance regulation. Kuhnmuench represents the Insurance Institute of Michigan.

The program will also be available online at WKAR.org in the afternoon of Friday, May 10.

To date, House Bill 4612 is pending in the House.

“Off the Record” is produced by WKAR and distributed to public broadcasting stations throughout Michigan.
