It’s run on three TV networks in two different countries. Now, a quartet of improv comedians is bringing the spontaneous madness of “Whose Line Is It Anyway” to mid-Michigan. This evening, the traveling stage show, “Whose Live Anyway” visits the Wharton Center in East Lansing. We talk with comic Greg Proops about the show and the art of improv.
Fans of the network TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway” know its premise: four comic masters riffing off each other’s improvised lines in zany, high-speed fun. The program originally debuted in Britain more than 25 years ago. The U.S. version of the show ran from 1998 to 2007 on the ABC network. “Whose Line” was revived in 2013 on The CW.
The show, which is taped before a live audience, has also spawned a live stage production. Tonight, comedians Joel Murray, Jeff B. Davis, Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops bring the antics to the Wharton Center in East Lansing with their rendition of “Whose Live Anyway?”
