WKAR Radio Campaign Exceeds Goal!

WKAR Radio volunteers in action! Thanks!

WKAR Radio wrapped up its fall membership campaign with a grand total of $139,527, surpassing the pledge goal of $110,000 by nearly $30,000.

The total reflects gifts of 1,065 individuals, with 80 percent of the gifts being new members or those who had returned after more than 13 months since their membership inspired.

Challenge Grants Make a Difference!

One of the strategies that helped increase the totals were the challenge grants. The collective amount of challenge grants was $6,000, with that amount doubled by membership dollars. Those providing challenge grants to the campaign included Dr. Beth Alexander, Marilyn Amey, Cedarfarm, Lary and Mary Hennessey, Abby Hunt, The Moasic Foundation of R. and P. Heydon, Marjorie Renfrow, and anonymous donations from a Sound Vision Society member and a collection of Sound Vision Society members who contribute to the WKAR Classical Music Endowment.

"A Team Effort"

“Many of our staff worked long hours, dropped everything to answer phones and worked very early and very late,” says WKAR senior director of development Cathy Zell. “This was truly a team effort, combining our WKAR staff and the many volunteers who staffed our pledge phones.”

Thanks to all who called, who volunteered, who provided meals for our volunteers and staff and supported WKAR Radio during the campaign!
