Neighbors in Action: Meals on Wheels

Flickr/US Coast Guard

For years, the well-recognized program Meals on Wheels, based in the Tri-County Office on Aging, has provided meals and other services for many of the area’s elderly and disabled.

Ruth Pell, program director for our local Meals on Wheels, explains the crucial services they provide and discusses the increased need, both for meals and for volunteers to administer them.

If you’d like to nominate someone or an organization to be featured on our Neighbors in Action segment, please send an email to Currentstate@wkar.org. Put “Neighbors in Action” in the subject line and tell us why you think they should be featured for the great work they do. You can even nominate yourself, if you like.
